Prayer Team
In Matt 17:20 and Mark 9:29 Jesus reminds us that we need faith and prayer to overcome the power of the enemy. All that we do as a church is blanketed in prayer. In prayer, we offer our praise, our petitions, and for His will to be done. Our prayer advocate and prayer team promote and encourage all who attend Estero UMC to join them in prayer. As we all lift up our prayers to the Lord, we hope to know and experience His divine power. Estero UMC’s prayer advocate , Lucy Jacoby, 390-1522, coordinates the many prayer opportunities of the church.
Prayer Teams There are two prayer teams. The prayer group meets Wed at 9am at the Sanctuary altar to pray for the church, community and the world. The prayer chain is also available at any time for emergency prayer. Contact Kathleen Horton, 949-4535 for the prayer chain to be activated.
Hospital Visitation Our senior pastor and laity are committed to visiting the Estero UMC congregation during hospital stays. Pastor Harris tries to visit those who are having surgery, and following surgeries or during any hospital stay, he and lay volunteers visit each patient. This is an important ministry of this church. If you are going to be in the hospital, please contact the church office at 992-5516.
Encouraging the Homebound and Nursing Home Patients We have committed to visiting our homebound and nursing home residents on a regular basis. Doris Ashcraft brings encouragement, a smile and prayer to those who need this ministry. Communion is made available periodically as well. Please contact Linda Horne,992-5516 to be put on the list for visits.
Prayer Advocate Our prayer advocate, Lucy Jacoby leads us to pray for specific events and people. These are published each month in the Circuitwriter.
National Day Of Prayer In March there is a nation wide emphasis on prayer. We provide special times of guided prayer during the day, giving those in our community a place to call out to God on behalf of our nation.
